Our estimated production timeframe for custom-built instruments is approximately 30–90 working days, depending on the model, customization complexity, finish, materials, and selected specifications.

Because each instrument is built specifically for the customer rather than taken from ready-made inventory, more complex builds may require additional production time.

During production, we will provide email updates as your instrument reaches important stages of the build. If your instrument is completed earlier than the estimated timeframe, we will also notify you.

Working days do not include weekends, public holidays, or shipping time.

Each Custom Guitar Atelier instrument is built to order according to the customer's confirmed specifications.

The production period allows time for material preparation, woodworking, construction, finishing and curing, hardware and electronics installation, final setup, playability testing, and quality inspection.

We believe it is more important to complete your custom instrument properly than to rush the build at the expense of workmanship, setup, or quality.

Your custom instrument will generally progress through the following stages:

1. Order Confirmed & Specifications Reviewed
We confirm your payment, selected options, customization requirements, and shipping information.

2. Production Started
Your confirmed specifications are forwarded to our production team, and the required materials and components are prepared.

3. Woodworking & Construction
The selected woods are prepared, shaped, routed, assembled, and constructed according to the instrument design.

4. Finishing
The instrument is prepared for its selected color, stain, artwork, or finish. The protective finish is then applied and allowed the necessary curing time.

5. Hardware & Electronics Assembly
Tuners, bridge, pickups, controls, wiring, and other applicable components are installed and tested.

6. Final Setup & CGA Quality
The instrument undergoes final setup, tuning, intonation, playability testing, electronics testing where applicable, and our comprehensive quality check.

7. Ready for Shipment
After passing quality check, the instrument is cleaned, documented, and securely packaged for dispatch.

8. Shipped
Once the package has been handed over to the carrier, we will send you the shipment and tracking information.

The time spent at each stage may vary depending on the instrument design, customization complexity, finishing requirements, material availability, and quality-control results.

We accept Stripe, bank transfers, and major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, and other payment methods that may be available during checkout.

We also support convenient digital wallet and accelerated checkout options, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link, where available.

Card and wallet payments are securely processed through trusted payment providers using encrypted checkout technology, allowing customers to complete their purchases safely and confidently.

We also use carefully selected woods for the body, neck, and fretboard. Available wood choices depend on the instrument design, construction requirements, desired appearance, weight, and customer specifications.

Not every instrument includes all of the components listed above. Final components depend on the model and options selected by the customer.

Every completed instrument undergoes a comprehensive quality check before being approved for shipment.

It covers key areas including:

  • Construction & Finish
  • Neck & Playability
  • Tuning, Intonation & Setup
  • Electronics — where applicable
  • Hardware
  • Functional Testing
  • Final Cosmetic Check

    CUSTOMER REVIEWS

by David M. | Austin, Texas on Custom Guitar Atelier
    An Absolute Showstopper!

The 6-string acrylic LED guitar I got from customguitaratelier.com is incredible. The custom lighting looks amazing on dark stages, and the dense acrylic body gives it a massive, sustaining tone. Exactly what I wanted!" — David M. | Austin, Texas

by Marcus T. on Custom Guitar Atelier
    Flawless Craftsmanship and Incredible Playability

I’ve played extended-range guitars for years, but making the jump to a bespoke build was a big decision. I can confidently say that going with Custom Guitar Atelier was the best choice I could have made. The master builders were incredibly responsive and kept me updated throughout the entire 45-day production process.

When my 8-string arrived, it was perfectly set up right out of the box. The neck profile is unbelievably fast, and the stainless steel fretwork is some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. The low F# is tight and articulate, without any of the muddiness you get on factory-built 8-strings. It genuinely feels like it was sculpted specifically for my hands. If you are on the fence about commissioning a build, just do it. The craftsmanship is world-class. Marcus T. | Seattle, Washington
