  • Veneer Top: A thin decorative wood layer, approximately 0.6mm thick, used mainly to create a beautiful figured wood appearance. It has little to no effect on tone and is primarily cosmetic.

    Cap Top: A thicker wood layer, approximately 3mm to 6mm thick, used for both appearance and premium construction. Depending on the wood type, it may also contribute to the guitar’s tonal character, resonance, and overall feel.

    I’ve played extended-range guitars for years, but making the jump to a bespoke build was a big decision. I can confidently say that going with Custom Guitar Atelier was the best choice I could have made.     When my 8-string arrived, it was perfectly set up right out of the box. The neck profile is unbelievably fast, and the stainless steel fretwork is some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. The low F# is tight and articulate, without any of the muddiness you get on factory-built 8-strings. It genuinely feels like it was sculpted specifically for my hands.
